Colin Walters 6e4146a354 tree-wide: Remove Emacs modelines
We added a `.dir-locals.el` in commit: 9a77017d87
There's no need to have it per-file, with that people might think
to add other editors, which is the wrong direction.

Colin Walters 3594bb2d0f lib: Add a private helper to abort txns, use in sysroot cleanup
Steal some code from flatpak for this, which allows porting a few more things to
new style. I started on a public API version of this but was trying to roll some
other things into it and it snowballed. Let's do this version since it's easy
for now.

While here I changed things so that `generate_deployment_refs()` now just uses
`_set_ref_immediate()` rather than requring a txn.

Also, AFAICS there was no test coverage of `generate_deployment_refs()`; I tried
commenting it out and at least `admin-test.sh` passed. Add some coverage of this
- I verified that with this commenting out bits of that function cause the test
to fail.

Colin Walters 0e6d23835b lib/sysroot: Add some g_prefix_error() for ostree_sysroot_cleanup()
We saw this fail in a CI run. We've been trying to add strategic error prefixing
as a general rule, and this specific instance may help debug.

Colin Walters 9bf8a8503a lib/sysroot: Add non-failable ostree_sysroot_repo()
Having a failable accessor is annoying, since it's really common
to reference both. Instead, open the repo once when we load
the sysroot, and provide a non-failable accessor.

This is also prep for `ostree_repo_open_at()`, which collapses the separation
between `ostree_repo_new()` and `ostree_repo_open()`.

Colin Walters 9380dbb14d lib: Add "open dfd iter handling noent" helper, port tree-wide
Follow up to a previous patch that addressed a double-close; I
realized we already had a helper for doing "open dfd iter, do nothing
if we get ENOENT". Raise it to libotuil, and port all consumers.

Colin Walters 3f1bcab27f lib/cleanup: Port some of the cleanup code to fd-relative and new style
There aren't many users of `g_file_enumerator_iterate()` left - those
remaining are usually good candidates for porting. There's some more
porting to do in this file; a mix of trivial and harder. This
one is a good candidate for an individual commit.

Colin Walters 5d413dff88 sysroot: Prep refactoring of cleanup logic
For future work I'm going to tweak how we handle cleanup, and
the private cleanup flags didn't really end up being used - we
only specify "prune repo or not". So fold that into a boolean for now.

The sysroot deploy logic then has a single "do_postclean" boolean, which is all
I want to expose as public API.

Colin Walters 90b9a06277 lib: Use g_file_enumerator_iterate() if available, with fallback
Import `gs_file_enumerator_iterate()` for the next six months or
so...after RHEL 7.3 is released I'm strongly considering hard
requiring 2.46 or so.

Likely at some point we should figure out how to share more "glib
backport" code with NetworkManager at least.

Colin Walters 18530894c7 libglnx porting: Use glnx_shutil_rm_rf_at()
In some cases (such as `ostree-sysroot-cleanup.c`), the surrounding
code would be substantially cleaner if it was also ported to
fd-relative, but I'm going to do that in a separate patch.

That way these patches are easier to review for mechanical
correctness. I used an Emacs keyboard macro as the poor man's

Colin Walters bab6503b69 sysroot: Cleanup refs and prune even on last undeployment
I was working on a different test, and ended up being very confused at
the behavior where removing the last deployment didn't remove the last
`ostree/X/X/X` ref pointing to its commit.

There's no reason to special case the last undeployment AFAIK, and the
existing code handles this.

Matthew Barnes b0bd16ec11 sysroot: Add ostree_sysroot_prepare_cleanup()
New public function works like ostree_sysroot_cleanup() EXCEPT FOR
pruning the repository.

Under the hood, add _ostree_sysroot_piecemeal_cleanup() which takes
flags to better control what files are cleaned up. Both public cleanup
functions are now wrappers for _ostree_sysroot_piecemeal_cleanup() with
different flags.

Colin Walters b4d21e9406 deploy: Set the immutable bit on the deployment root
This prevents people from creating new directories there and expecting
them to be persisted. The OSTree model has all local state to be in
/etc and /var.

This introduces a compile-time dependency on libe2fsprogs.

We're only doing this for the root directory at the moment.

Colin Walters 07904c2457 sysroot: Support more arbitrary deployment changes
This commit changes the sysroot API so that one can create arbitrary
new deployment checkouts, then commit them as one step. This is to
enable things like an automatic bisection tool which say create 50
deployments at once, then when done clean them up.

This also moves some printfs from the library into src/ostree.

Colin Walters 8f1ea1b50a sysroot: Clean up API
Now that we have a real GObject for the sysroot, we have a convenient
place to keep track of 4 pieces of state:

* The current deployment list
* The current bootversion
* The current subbootversion
* The current booted deployment (if any)

Avoid requiring callers to pass all of this around and load it
piecemeal; instead the new thing is ostree_sysroot_load().
