What: Summary of current advice on blogging from r/blogging and r/just start.
Summary of each subreddit and general conclusions.
Both sites focus on generating income from blogging by winning search traffic.
Specific advice
1. Pick a microniche to focus on.
2. Build out from the niche with clear purpose.
3. Decide on articles by looking for keywords from searhc traffic.
4. AI is important going forward.
- Mixed amounts of applications.
- A lot of concern about replacing search.
5. Google "Helpful Content Update" significantly reduced search traffic.
- Relying on google is fickle.
6. Profiting from ads requires a lot of views.
Better to sale own content.
My takeaways:
1. If Google is so fickle, better to try to find traffic from somewhere
other than Google.
- Why would someone want to come my site in once I got it in their face?
2. Not worth it to rely on Ads.
Need to use the blog traffic to build trust.
Building trust conflicts with doing bad affiliate advertising.
